Singapore’s Wilson & Hughes acquires bankrupt travel services co. Cox & Kings
Singapore-based private equity firm Wilson & Hughes has acquired travel services brand Cox & Kings via the insolvency process. The acquisition includes 200+ specialised sub-brands, with no prior liabilities.The acquirer is planning the revival with a focus on providing a blend of traditional luxury as well as advanced technology such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, aimed at delivering tailored travel experiences.Cox & Kings ceased operations following financial troubles in 2019. The company was liquidated following a National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) order in December 2021. Its former promoter Peter Kerkar is facing charges for siphoning funds.The sub-brands that are part of the acquisition include Duniya Dekho - "See the World with Us", Bharat Dekho - "Discover the Wonders of India", Luxury Escapades - "Unparalleled Luxury, Unforgettable Journeys", Bhakti Yatra - "A Spiritual Journey Awaits", Holiday 365 - "Your Perfect Getaway, Every Day of the Year", and Tour to Feast - "A Culinary Adventure Across Cultures".
