Slice SFB to raise $100-M in first funding round after becoming a bank
Bengaluru-based Slice Small Finance Bank is set to raise INR 485-Cr through a mix of compulsorily convertible debentures and partly paid equity shares. Moore Strategic Ventures, Kado Global, Neo entities, Blume Ventures, Raise Fintech, and PixelSky Capital are expected to be the investors. The round reportedly includes a secondary component involving the sale of shares by existing shareholders.Founded in 2016 by Rajan Bajaj as SlicePay, the company originally operated as a buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) platform providing credit lines to students and young professionals. Following a merger with North East Small Finance Bank that closed in October 2024, the entity was rebranded as Slice Small Finance Bank in May 2025.The firm plans to use the capital to support its operations. The bank recorded a net profit of INR 50.9-Cr for the June quarter in FY2026-27, compared to a loss of INR 10.1-Cr in the same period of the previous year.
Between Dec 2015 and Sep 2024, Slice had attracted about $390-M from GMO Venture Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Moore Strategic Ventures, Tiger Global.For FY25, Slice had reported about INR 409 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 217 Cr in Net Loss.
