Small-town-focused fintech platform WeRize raises $7-M from Sony, 3one4 Capital
Bengaluru-based fintech platform WeRize has raised USD 7 million in a pre-Series C funding round led by Sony Innovation Fund, with participation from existing investor 3one4 Capital. This investment brings the total equity raised by the company to more than USD 28 million since its inception.Founded in 2019 by former Lendingkart executives Vishal Chopra and Himanshu Gupta, the company provides credit, insurance, and savings products tailored for small towns. The firm claims to use regional data signals to design customised financial services for an estimated 300 million people.The company plans to deploy the new funds toward building artificial intelligence infrastructure, expanding its product suite to include secured housing loans, mutual funds, online bonds, and co-branded credit cards. The company is preparing for a potential initial public offering by 2028.
Between Jan 2019 and Mar 2026, WeRize had attracted about $ 32 M from 3ONE4 Capital, Kalaari Capital, Orios VP, Picus Capital, British International Investment , Sony Innovation Fund and others.For FY25, WeRize had reported about INR 112 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 4 Cr in PAT.
