SoftBank sells Paytm shares worth Rs.984 Cr; registers 0.9x return

SoftBank has sold a 2.07% stake in publicly-listed One97 Communications Ltd (which owns fintech brand PayTM) between Feb 10, 2023 and May 8, 2023. The sales aggregate to INR 984 crore. Post the sale, SoftBank holds a 11.17% stake in the company.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Apr 2007 and Nov 2019, Paytm raised funding from investors including SoftBank across several rounds. The company went public in Nov 2021 at INR 2,150 per share. SoftBank made a partial exit as part of the IPO.
