SoftBank trims 1.73% stake in e-commerce co. Meesho via Rs.1,650-Cr block deal

SoftBank’s investment vehicle SVF II Meerkat (DE) LLC has sold 8 crore shares in the e-commerce platform Meesho for about INR 1,650.4 Cr through a block deal on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The shares were sold at INR 206.30 apiece, representing a 1.73% stake in the firm.Founded as an e-commerce platform, Meesho reported an operating revenue of INR 3,713 Cr for the first quarter of FY27, representing a 48% year-on-year increase. During the same period, the company narrowed its net loss by 54% to INR 133 Cr.Following this sale, the stake held by the SoftBank entity in Meesho is expected to reduce to about 6.87%, based on its holding of 8.60% as of June 2026.

Between Oct 2017 and Jan 2025, Meesho had attracted about USD 1,733 M from Mars Growth Capital, Peak XV Partners, Think Investments, Tiger Global, WestBridge, Elevation Capital, Prosus Ventures, Tiger Global, B Capital Group, CapitalG, Fidelity, Footpath Ventures, Good Capital, Prosus Ventures, SoftBank Corp, Symphony International Holdings, Trifecta Capital and others.For FY25, Meesho had reported about INR 6,381 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 27,331 Cr in PAT.
