Solar cells maker Jupiter International raises Rs.500-Cr from ValueQuest

Kolkata-headquartered Jupiter International , a manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) solar cells, has raised INR 500 crore from existing investor ValueQuest (via ValueQuest SCALE Fund and its affiliates).The new funds, along with internal accruals, will be used to accelerate expansion of solar manufacturing and support the company's ongoing capex programme.Founded in 1981, Jupiter operates a 1 GW facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The firm plans to increase the total capacity to 5.6 GW solar cells and 2.4 GW solar modules.

Between Mar 2022 and Jul 2024, Jupiter International had attracted about USD 58 M from Edelweiss Private Equity and ValueQuest.
