Space-tech co. Catalyx raises $5.4-M in seed funding led by Outlander VC

Ahmedabad- and San Francisco, CA (USA)-based spacetech startup Catalyx Space has raised USD 5.4 million (approximately INR 47.4 crore) in its seed funding round. The investment was led by Outlander VC, with participation from Arka Venture Labs, Lex Reddy, KDX Management LLC, Together, Higher Life Ventures, Nivesha Ventures, Prana Tech Ventures, Bria, HF0 Residency, and Techstars.Founded in 2024 by Rifath Shaarook, Saqib Hussain, Keerthan Chand Aluvala, and Clinton D Antony, Catalyx Space provides unmanned space labs and re-entry capsules for multi-purpose space operations, catering to entities and researchers. The company intends to deploy the fresh capital to develop a back-end infrastructure for space, facilitating upmass and downmass in orbital logistics. These funds will also be used to demonstrate its next-generation re-entry and landing technology, scale its go-to-market strategy, and execute upcoming missions.Catalyx Space had previously raised USD 1.7 million in its pre-seed funding round in January 2025. The startup has since conducted a second drop test of its REX capsule, validating its recovery and re-entry systems. It has also partnered with over 26 space missions, launched one orbital satellite, and plans to demonstrate its 50 kg-class Cosmotron satellite bus in early 2026. Its technology stack allows clients to install payloads in Cosmotron and access data directly from space via a web portal and ground station network.
