Space-tech firm Pixxel to raise $100-M led by Temasek
Singapore-based Temasek is leading a USD 100 million funding round in Bengaluru-based space-tech startup Pixxel , which values the company at USD 350 million to USD 400 million. The investment round is expected to include a mix of primary and secondary capital. Existing investors, including GIC, are also expected to participate in the round.Founded in 2019 by BITS Pilani graduates Awais Ahmed and Kshitij Khandelwal, Pixxel develops hyperspectral satellites and provides Earth observation data and insights to track environmental changes. The company operates through two entities, PixxelSpace India and Pixxel Space Technologies.The firm plans to use the new capital to expand its satellite manufacturing capacity and scale operations for upcoming missions. It also aims to enhance its capability to provide satellite manufacturing services for other organisations and governments.
Between May 2019 and April 2025, Pixxel had attracted about USD 107.87 million from Athera Venture Partners, Glade Brook Capital, Google Impact, Lightspeed Ventures, Radical Ventures, Blume Ventures, Google, Growx Ventures, Accenture Ventures, Omnivore Partners and others.For FY25, Pixxel had reported about INR 36.35 crore in Operating Income and about INR 30.83 crore in Net loss.
