Space-tech firms receive Rs.834-Cr from govt’s RDI fund

The union government’s INR 1 Lakh Crore research, development, and innovation (RDI) fund has approved 22 companies for a total assistance of INR 2,192.32 crore, with spacetech firms securing INR 833.89 crore in the inaugural cohort.The selected companies include Astrome , The ePlane Company , Agnikul Cosmos , GalaxEye , and Manastu Space . The fund aims to support these firms through a mix of debt, equity, covering up to 50% of an approved project's cost.Beyond the space sector, drone manufacturer ideaForge Technology has been sanctioned INR 151 crore for the development of its heavy-lift, long-range autonomous aerial logistics unmanned aerial vehicle, YETI.

Between Jul 2021 and Jan 2025, Astrome had attracted about $13-M from IAN Fund, Urania Ventures and others.Between Dec 2020 and Oct 2024, ePlane Company had attracted about $20-M from AngelList, Anicut Capital, Antares Ventures, Homage Ventures, Info Edge, Java Capital, Micelio Fund, Samarthya Investment Advisors, SiriusOne Capital, Speciale Invest, and others.Between Feb 2019 and Mar 2026, AgniKul Cosmos had attracted about $59-M from Artha India Ventures, Celesta Capital, Chiratae Ventures, Dholakia Ventures, Java Capital, Mayfield, Pi Ventures, Rainmatter Capital, rocketship.vc, SiriusOne Capital, Speciale Invest and others.Between Jun 2021 and Mar 2026, GalaxEye had attracted about $19-M from Anicut Capital, Eraya Capital, Mela Ventures, Mounttech Growth Fund, Navam Capital, Rainmatter Capital, Speciale Invest, SIDBI and others.Between Jul 2022 and Nov 2024, Manastu Space had attracted about $7-M from Big Capital, Capital A, E2MC Ventures, Haystack Investment, Info Edge and others.
