Spacetech startup Sisir Radar raises $7-M led by 360ONE
Kolkata-based spacetech startup Sisir Radar has raised USD 7 million in a Series A funding round led by 360 ONE Asset, with participation from Shastra VC.Founded in 2022 by Tapan Misra, former director of Space Applications Centre (SAC) at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Soumya Misra and Urmi Bhambhani, Sisir Radar focuses on developing indigenous radar payloads and related ground systems, working on lower-frequency L- and P-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems.The company plans to use the fresh capital to launch a privately built L-band SAR satellite, targeted for launch by 2026. The funds will also advance its satellite program and expand ongoing research and development efforts.
In Jan 2025, Sisir Radar had attracted about USD 2 M from Kairos, MGA Ventures, Pegasus Fininvest, Riverwalk Holdings, Shastra VC, and others.
