Spark Capital launches Rs.1,500-Cr late-stage PE fund
Chennai-based Spark Capital has launched an INR 1,500 crore late-stage private equity fund called Midas Fund II . The fund began in July 2026 and is yet to make any investments. It is claimed that within 7 weeks of launch, the fund has already garnered INR 1,200 crore of the planned target of INR 1,500 crore.Midas Fund II has a five-year fund tenure, shorter than most traditional private equity funds and other late-stage private-market vehicles, with provisions for co-investment opportunities.The fund will look at INR 50-150 crore as cheque size per deal and up to INR 200 crore, including co-investment. The fund will invest in businesses already profitable with strong financial performance. It will consider investments typically 12-36 months from a liquidity event (IPO, strategic sale, or institutional/family-office secondary).
