Spiritual-tech platform Vama.app raises Rs.22-Cr from Wavemaker Partners, others
Spiritual and devotional platform Vama.app has completed a funding round, raising INR 22 crore, led by existing investor Wavemaker Partners, with participation from 500 Global, Sadev Ventures, Venture Catalysts, Silverneedle Ventures, and angel investors. The company's current valuation stands at INR 147 crore.Founded in 2020 by Manu Jain and Acharya Dev, Vama.app claims to collaborate with over 250 temples, while featuring a network of more than 300 astrologers. The platform reports 600,000 monthly active users (MAU) and is increasing its focus on content to create online experiences for devotees to connect with spiritual leaders, with offerings to deities being a primary revenue source.The startup intends to allocate the newly raised capital to enter new segments such as e-commerce and offline spiritual tourism. Plans include facilitating temple visits and pujas, with a goal to launch offline travel services in at least two cities within the current calendar year.Vama.app doubled its revenue to INR 20 crore in FY25 and projects achieving INR 50 crore in revenue for FY26.
