Sports-tech startup StepOut raises $1.5 M led by Rainmatter
Bengaluru-based sports-tech startup StepOut has raised USD 1.5 million in a pre-series A funding round led by Rainmatter Capital. The round also saw participation from SucSEED Innovation Fund and Misfits Capital.Founded in 2020 by Jeet Karmakar and Sayak Ghosh, StepOut operates as an AI-powered football performance and intelligence platform focusing on player development, match analysis, and scouting across youth, semi-professional, and professional football levels.The new funds will be used to expand international operations, increase investments in AI and computer vision, and scale its product capabilities. The company also plans to broaden its offerings beyond football to include amateur sports and other disciplines.
Between Sep 2024 and Feb 2025, StepOutPlay had attracted about USD 2 M from Rainmatter Capital and others.For FY24, StepOutPlay had reported about INR 40 Lakhs in Operating Income and about INR 80 Lakhs in Net Loss.
