Steradian Semiconductors acquired by Japan's Renesas

Tokyo-based Renesas Electronics Corporation, a supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, is to acquire Bengaluru-based Steradian Semiconductors Pvt Ltd, a fabless semiconductor company which provides 4D imaging radar solutions, in an all-cash deal. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2022. Founded in 2016, Steradian has extensive expertise in radar technology. Operating in the 76-81 GHz band, Steradian's 4D radar transceivers offer a high level of integration in a small form factor and high power efficiency. Renesas and Steradian have been collaborating since 2018, mainly in industrial applications.
