Strawberry seller Fragaria in talks to raise Rs.40-Cr led by Blume Ventures

Chennai-based Fragaria is in talks to raise INR 40 crore (USD 4.2 million) in a fresh funding round led by Blume Ventures. The transaction is expected to include participation from existing investors WEH Ventures and Rainmatter. Post investment, the company could reach a valuation of INR 160 crore.Founded in 2024 by Harish Varadharajan, Timothy Chad Van Niekerk, and Damian Lopez-Salazar, Fragaria uses indoor vertical farming to cultivate premium, pesticide-free strawberries. The company plans to use the new funds to scale its operations near Bengaluru, where it is constructing a commercial farm and developing dedicated facilities for raspberries and blueberries.

In Sep 2025, Fragaria Fruits had attracted about USD 2-M from Rainmatter Capital, Spiral Ventures, WEH Ventures, and others.For FY25, Fragaria Fruits had reported about INR 2 lakh in Operating Income and about INR 69 lakh in Net Loss.
