Sustainability-focused agri-tech co. Grow Indigo raises $10-M from BII

Mumbai-based agri-tech firm Grow Indigo has raised USD 10 million from the UK’s development finance institution British International Investment (BII). This funding is expected to accelerate the expansion of the firm’s sustainability programs across India.Established in 2018, Grow Indigo offers solutions to improve farmer profitability, environmental sustainability, and consumer health. The firm deals with over 2.5 million acres of small-holder farmland across seven states. It promotes sustainable techniques such as direct seeded rice and no-tillage farming that deliver multiple benefits such as enhanced soil health and reduced erosion, preservation of biodiversity, improved water efficiency and reduced manual labour particularly benefitting women farmers.
