Sustainability-focused ZeCa Capital’s Rs.150-Cr fund gets Sebi nod

Bengaluru-based, sustainability-focused venture capital firm ZeCa Capital has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to launch its maiden fund with a corpus of INR 150 crore. The firm has received commitments from Atria Group chairman Sunder Raju and a few CXOs in the sustainability space and is expected to announce the first close at about INR 40 crore this month.Founded in 2024 by Pawan Raj Kumar (former partner at Venture Garage), along with ex-Cuemath executive Aakash Kushwaha, ZeCa Capital aims to invest in early-stage sustainable startups across electric mobility, renewable energies, agritech, circular economy, consumer brands, and SaaS sectors.The Category II AIF (alternative investment fund) will invest in pre-seed and seed funding rounds of 20 to 25 startups in the next four years. The average ticket size will range between INR 2 crore and INR 3 crore.
