Tata Power to acquire 40% stake in Bhutan's Dorjilung hydro project for Rs.1,572-Cr

Mumbai-headquartered, publicly listed Tata Power Ltd is to invest INR 1,572 crore to acquire a 40% equity stake in a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that will develop the 1,125 MW Dorjilung hydropower project in Bhutan. The total project cost is estimated at INR 13,100 crore, to be incurred by Tata Power and Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC).Separately, Tata Power also announced the commencement of construction for the 600 MW Khorlochhu Hydro Project in Bhutan. Tata Power holds a 40% stake in this project, which is part of a 5 GW clean energy partnership.
