Temasek, Alpha Wave, 2 others in talks to invest $1.3 B in Adani Group’s airport biz

A consortium of global investors, including Temasek and Alpha Wave, are negotiating to invest USD 1.3 Billion in the Adani Group’s airports business. The proposed investment, valuing Adani Airport Holdings (AAHL) at an estimated USD 18 Billion (INR 1.51 lakh crore), comes close on the heels of a similar-sized investment by Capital International in various Adani Group companies.If successful, this will be the first equity fundraising from external parties in the business. Some investors have reportedly sought a structured investment with assured returns, a proposal the group has turned down.The deal is expected to be finalised after the US Department of Justice rules on allegations of bribery and fraud against chairman Gautam Adani and nephew Sagar Adani.
