Temasek, Fidelity invest $200-M in eyewear retailer Lenskart Avendus Capital
Gurugram-based eyewear retailer Lenskart has raised USD 200 million in secondary investment from existing investor Temasek and new investor Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMR). was the financial advisor to Lenskart and its selling shareholders on this transaction.Following this transaction, Lenskart has attracted close to USD 1 billion in capital over the last 18 months.Lenskart was founded in 2008 by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, Neha Bansal, and Sumeet Kapahi. In addition to expanding into India, Lenskart has also expanded to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The platform claims to have more than 2,500 stores, of which approximately 2,000 are in India.
