Temasek sells 2% stake in eyewear retailer Lenskart for Rs.1,940-Cr
Singapore-based Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments has sold a 2.05% stake (3.56 crore shares) in omnichannel eyewear retailer Lenskart Solutions for INR 1,940 crore through open market transactions, which reduced its direct stake in the company from 4.26% to 2.21%.Post-transaction, Temasek will hold a 4.75% stake in the company through MacRitchie Investments and its affiliated entities, Jongsong Investments and V-Sciences Investments.Founded in 2010 by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, and Sumeet Kapahi, Lenskart manufactures eyewear through in-house facilities and operates retail stores in India and international markets besides selling online.
Temasek first invested in Lenskart in May 2021. The company went public in Oct 2025, as part of which, Temasek had made a partial exit. It subsequently sold shares in Jul 2025 and Oct 2025.For FY26, Lenskart had reported about INR 8,814 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 501 Cr in PAT.
