Tiger Global raises $2.7 B for new fund; 50% less than targeted

New York-based Tiger Global Management has raised USD 2.7 Billion for its new fund. The capital raised is 55% less than the firm's target of USD 6 Billion. This is 79% less than the USD 12.7 Billion raised by Tiger Global for its Fund 15 in March last year. Tiger is raising funds from pension and sovereign wealth funds and individuals with money at large brokerages such as Morgan Stanley. The new fund will primarily back enterprise startups in India.
