Transition VC closes maiden fund at Rs.700-Cr

Energy transition-focused venture capital firm Transition VC has closed its maiden SEBI category-II fund at INR 700 Cr. Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has invested INR 15 Cr in the fund.Established in 2022, Transition VC targets sub-sectors such as e-mobility, green hydrogen, energy storage, and climate tech. Its average ticket size per investment ranges from USD 500K to USD 1 Mn.The fund has deployed half of its corpus, investing in 17 startups including CIMware, Comminent, Matel, EMO, HYDGEN, Dynolt, and Promethean. It plans to back eight more startups, bringing its total portfolio to 25. The firm has also received initial commitments for its Fund II.
