Transition VC targets Rs.1,500-Cr for second energy-focused fund
Bengaluru-based Transition VC has begun raising its second energy-focused fund, targeting a corpus of INR 1,500-Cr, nearly double the size of its maiden investment vehicle, which raised INR 800 crore and achieved its final close in December 2025. The firm expects to announce the first close of the new fund in the December quarter of FY27.Founded by Raiyaan Shingati, Transition VC invests in companies building energy hardware and storage solutions. The firm plans to use the new capital to provide resources and scaling support to companies within the energy sector, including energy networks, thermal energy storage, advanced materials, and geothermal energy.The firm writes cheques between INR 20-Cr and INR 50-Cr for companies that have developed a product and are seeking to achieve product-market fit. Transition VC targets companies with scalable revenue models and positive unit economics, specifically aiming for those reaching USD 8-M to USD 10-M in revenue while maintaining EBITDA profitability. The firm’s maiden fund portfolio consists of 23 companies, and it intends to back 20 startups through this second fund.
