Travel portal Yatra’s founders explore sale of controlling stake
The founders of Mumbai-based Yatra Online have initiated talks regarding the sale of a controlling stake in the company. The travel portal has reportedly sent feelers to competitors, including MakeMyTrip, Paytm Travel, Rapido, and Ixigo, as well as a private equity fund. The company is currently working with advisors on the potential transaction, with non-binding term sheets expected to be submitted by interested parties next week.Yatra Online operates as a corporate travel services provider and was founded by Dhruv Shringi, Manish Amin, and Sabina Chopra. The company recently reported its most profitable year to date for fiscal year 2026, recording a total income of INR 1,032 crore and a net profit of INR 47 crore.
Between Jan 2006 and Sep 2017, Yatra Online had attracted about $ 120 M from Capital18, Norwest, Reliance Venture, Intel Capital, Valiant Capital, Chiratae Ventures, Vertex and Rajasthan VC.For FY25, Yatra Online had reported about INR 493 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 17 Cr in PAT.
