Underwater robots maker Coratia Technologies raises Rs.5-Cr led by Piper Serica Angel Fund

Rourkela, Odisha-based Coratia Technologies , an underwater robotics company, has raised INR 5 crore (around USD 563,000) in a funding round led by Piper Serica Angel Fund. Existing investors MGF Kavachh and Pontaq Ventures also participated, having previously jointly invested over INR 17 crore in July 2025.Co-founded by Debendra Pradhan and Biswajit Swain, Coratia is incubated at NIT Rourkela and focuses on developing autonomous underwater vehicles for defence and industrial uses. Its flagship systems include Jalasimha, Jaladuta, Oceanus, and Navya.Coratia plans to use the new capital to strengthen in-house research and development, expand manufacturing capacity, upgrade product lines, and explore international markets.The company recently received an INR 66 crore contract from the Indian Navy for its Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (UWROV), Jalasimha.
