US-based crypto trading co. Bakkt to invest $10-M in listed brokerage Transchem

US-based digital asset trading platform Bakkt is investing USD 10 million in Mumbai-based publicly listed brokerage firm, Transchem . Transchem will issue a total of 6.15 crore warrants at INR 75 per warrant, totalling INR 461.25 crore, with Bakkt subscribing to 4.75 crore of these warrants.Founded in 1976, Transchem initially specialised in manufacturing chemicals and pharmaceuticals and later diversified into mushroom processing. In October 2025, the company pivoted to financial services by acquiring Greshma Shares & Stocks.Bakkt, launched by NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in 2018 and led by co-CEO Akshay Naheta, offers a platform for institutions, merchants, and consumers to engage with digital assets, providing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Application Programming Interface (API) infrastructure for trading, custody, and tokenised products.
