Varanium Capital marks first close of maiden venture debt fund of Rs.250-Cr
Mumbai-headquartered asset management firm Varanium Capital Advisors has marked the first close of its maiden venture debt fund of INR 250 crore. The company plans to use the fund to back 100 startups through a mix of revenue-based financing and venture debt. The fund will back startups in sectors such as D2C, SaaS, B2B commerce, and fintech. The venture debt fund will be managed by Nawal Bachhuka, who was earlier the risk head for SME and SEG (west) at Aditya Birla Finance Ltd. The fund has commitments from high net-worth individuals (HNIs), entrepreneurs, and former CEOs and CXOs of banks.
