Virtual spiritual platform Vama raises $500-K to close seed round at $1.25 M

Hyderabad-based virtual spiritual platform Vama has raised USD 500,000 as a top-up to its seed round, which took place earlier this year. With this latest infusion, the startup has closed its seed round at USD 1.25 million. The round was led by Filipino investor-entrepreneur Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, with participation from a US-based pre-seed fund. Vama's existing backers 7Square Ventures, Supermorpheus, and Harit Nagpal also participated in this round. In March, the startup had raised USD 750,000 from 7Square Ventures. Kunal Shah (Founder, CRED), Varun Alagh, among others. Founded in late 2020 by Manu Jain, Himanshu Semwal and Acharya Dev, Vama provides access to e-pujas, e-darshans, and astrology services to clients. It offers virtual puja remedies in temples from all over the country and claims to have so far enabled over 150,000 online consultations.
