W Health Ventures closes second fund at Rs.700-Cr
Delhi- and Boston, Massachusetts, (USA)-based healthcare-focused venture capital firm W Health Ventures has closed its second fund at INR 700 crore. The final corpus exceeded the initial target of INR 630 crore. The fund intends to build 8 to 10 companies over the next four years.The capital was raised from family offices of healthcare founders, as well as professionals from the pharmaceutical and hospital sectors, including clinicians, physicians, and surgeons from India and the US. The firm focuses on a company-creation model that builds healthcare businesses from the ground up.To date, the second fund has incubated two entities: Everhope Oncology, a cancer-care platform developed in partnership with Narayana Health, and Everbright Health.
