Waaree Energy Storage Solutions raises Rs.1,003-Cr

Mumbai-based Waaree Energy Storage Solutions (WESS), a subsidiary of publicly listed Waaree Energies, has raised INR 1,003 crore from a group of investors including family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional backers.WESS provides energy storage solutions through lithium-ion battery energy storage systems (BESS) for energy power stations, commercial ESS, and street lamp systems.The latest capital infusion is part of a larger INR 10,000 Cr capital expenditure plan aimed at establishing a 20 GWh advanced, lithium-ion cell and battery pack manufacturing plant. The planned facility will focus on producing high-performance cells and battery packs designed for utility-scale storage systems, electric mobility, and distributed energy applications.
