Warburg buys majority stake in furniture fittings maker Ebco at Rs.3,200-Cr valuation
Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus has acquired a majority stake in Mumbai-based furniture fittings and architectural hardware segment provider, Ebco Pvt Ltd at a reported valuation of INR 3,000-3,200 crore. The promoters will retain a significant minority stake and will continue to be involved in Ebco’s business. Avendus Capital was the exclusive financial advisor to Ebco on the deal.Founded in 1963, Ebco is one of India’s oldest furniture fittings and architectural hardware brands, offering products across categories such as bed and wardrobe fittings, kitchen systems and accessories, office furniture fittings, window and door hardware, and furniture lights. The company claims to have a distribution network of 5,500+ retail touchpoints across the country and operates three manufacturing plants in Maharashtra with R&D and design capabilities.
For FY23, Ebco had reported about INR 791.91 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 84.04 Cr in PAT.
