Warburg Pincus, Multiples sell PVR shares worth Rs.759-Cr

Private Equity (PE) investor Warburg Pincus has sold a 3.61% stake in publicly-listed PVR Ltd fetching INR 412.92 crore. Post the sale, Warburg would hold a 4.38% stake in the movie exhibitions firm. Multiples PE has also sold shares worth INR 346.23 crore in PVR. Post the sale, Multiples PE would hold a 3.01% stake in the company.

In Jan 2017, Warburg Pincus invested INR 824.23 Cr for 14% stake in PVR. In Sep 2020, it invested additional INR 38.19 Cr via a rights issue. In Nov 2012, Multiples PE had invested INR 153 Cr through a preferential allotment. Between Apr and Sep 2014, it made part exits by selling shares worth INR 152.37 Cr. In Jun 2015, Multiples invested INR 350 Cr through another preferential allotment. Between Mar and Dec 2016, it invested INR 122.35 Cr through Open Market Purchases. In Jan 2017, it made another part exit. In Sep 2020, it participated in the company’s rights issue.
