Warburg Pincus to acquire Shriram Housing Finance for Rs.4,630-Cr
Warburg Pincus (via its unit Mango Crest Investment) is to acquire Chennai-headquartered Shriram Housing Finance Ltd (SHFL) - from publicly listed Shriram Finance Ltd (SFL) and existing private equity investor Valiant Capital - for INR 4,630 crore. Of this, INR 3,909 crore will go to SFL.The existing management team of SHFL led by its MD & CEO Ravi Subramanian will continue to lead the business. For FY24, SHFL had reported a turnover of INR 1,429.56 crore.JM Financial, Barclays, and Avendus acted as financial advisors to SFL, SHFL and Valiant respectively. Trilegal and Anagram were legal advisors to Shriram Group and Valiant, while Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Warburg Pincus on the transaction
In Mar-2012, SHFL had raised over USD 30 M from Valiant Capital.
