Women's contraceptives maker Pregna raises $16-M from India Life Sciences Fund

Mumbai–headquartered women's contraceptive products maker Pregna International Ltd has raised its first private equity funding round of USD 16 million (INR 130 crore) from India Life Sciences Fund III (ILSF III managed by InvAscent) in return for a minority stake. Unaprime Investment Advisors acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Pregna for this transaction. Founded in the 1990s by the Taparia family, Pregna makes contraception devices in the global IUD (intrauterine devices) space with a growing portfolio of reproductive and women's health products. It is the largest IUD manufacturer in the world and claims to have a presence in over 140 countries.
