Bihar govt appoints advisor for state power transmission utility’s Rs.1,000-Cr IPO
The Bihar government has appointed the investment advisory arm of Punjab National Bank to manage the pre-initial public offering process for Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) .The planned share sale is expected to raise at least INR 1,000 crore at a valuation exceeding INR 10,000 crore. The proposed transaction is structured as a mix of a fresh issue of equity shares and an offer for sale by the Bihar government.BSPTCL is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company. The company recorded a net profit of INR 286 crore for the financial year ending March 2025, compared to INR 49.5 crore in the previous year.The utility plans to use the proceeds from the fresh issue of shares to fund its INR 16,194 crore expansion project.
