Food delivery platform Swiggy becomes Indian-owned

Food and grocery delivery platform Swiggy has transitioned to an Indian-Owned and Controlled Company (IOCC) as its domestic shareholding has surpassed 50%.As of July 6, the company reported that its aggregate foreign investment, which includes foreign direct investment, foreign portfolio investment, and other indirect foreign investment, stood at 49.76% of its fully diluted paid-up equity share capital. Consequently, domestic ownership has reached 50.24%.The shift in shareholding does not result in any immediate change to its management, business operations, or voting rights.

Between Feb 2015 and Jul 2024, Swiggy had attracted about $ 3609 M from Accel India, Elevation Capital, DST Global, Norwest, Harmony Partners, RB Investments, Bessemer, InnoVen Capital, Prosus Ventures, Coatue Management, Hillhouse Capital, Tencent, Wellington Management, Korea Investment Partners, Samsung Ventures, Alpha Wave Global, Amansa Capital, GIC, Goldman Sachs, Qatar Investment Authority , Think Investments, SoftBank Corp, 360 ONE, Axis PE, Baron Capital, Dovetail Global Fund, Invesco, Kotak Alternate, Motilal Oswal Alternates, Sixteenth Street Capital and Others.For FY26, Swiggy had reported about INR 23,561 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 4,154 Cr in Net Loss.
