Insurance marketplace Policybazaar’s co-founders plan Rs.654-Cr share sale
Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal, the co-founders of insurance marketplace PB Fintech , are planning to sell 3.8 million shares, representing about 0.8% of the company's outstanding equity, through a secondary market block deal. The transaction is set at an indicative floor price of INR 1,720 per share. Kotak Securities is acting as the sole bookrunner and broker for the deal.PB Fintech operates the online insurance platform Policybazaar and the credit marketplace Paisabazaar. This planned sale follows a series of previous stake dilutions since the company’s 2021 listing. The entity reported a consolidated net income of INR 261 crore for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, marking a 54% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.The company plans to use the capital from its recent performance to support its expansion in the insurance marketplace, the growth of recurring renewal income, and retail lending operations.
Between Sep 2008 and Apr 2022, PolicyBazaar had attracted about $ 774 M from Info Edge, Intel Capital, Athera Venture Partners, Ribbit Capital, Tiger Global, PremjiInvest, Steadview Capital, Temasek, Burman Family Office, Chiratae Ventures, TrueNorth, Wellington Management, SoftBank Corp, Tencent, Alpha Wave Global, 360 ONE, Bay Capital Investments, White Oak Capital Management and others.For FY25, PolicyBazaar had reported about INR 153 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 13 Cr in PAT.
