Kamarajar Port invites bankers for Rs.1,200-Cr IPO
Chennai-based Kamarajar Port has initiated the process to appoint three bookrunning lead managers to oversee its proposed initial public offering. The upcoming transaction is expected to include an offer for sale of shares to raise INR 1,200-Cr.Established in 1999 and functioning under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the company operates as India’s first corporate major port. The firm handles a diverse range of cargo, including thermal coal, petroleum, oil and lubricants, automobiles, and containers. The company functions as a subsidiary of the Chennai Port Authority, which holds its entire equity.The company aims to complete the listing process in the calendar year 2027.
For FY25, Kamarajar Port had reported about INR 1,138 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 539 Cr in PAT.
