Moopen family invests Rs.350-Cr to up stake in health-tech co. Aster DM Quality Care

Union (Mauritius) Holdings, an entity owned and promoted by the Moopen family, has acquired a 0.57% stake in publicly listed Aster DM Quality Care for about INR 350.34 crore. The equity shares were purchased from Centella Mauritius, a firm backed by TPG. The transaction was executed at INR 760 per share, increasing the Moopen family's total shareholding in the healthcare provider to approximately 24.58%.Aster DM Quality Care is a healthcare provider formed through the merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India. Founded by Dr. Azad Moopen, the company operates an integrated platform that manages a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities under the Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH brands.

Between Feb 2008 and Nov 2024, Aster DM Healthcare had attracted about USD 237-M from Blackstone, TPG Growth, Olympus Capital, TrueNorth.For FY26, Aster DM Healthcare had reported about INR 2,616 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 268 Cr in PAT.
