Promoter of pharma co. Granules India sells 7% stake worth Rs.1,500-Cr
Hyderabad-based Granules India promoter Krishna Prasad Chigurupati has sold 1.72 crore shares of the company, amounting to about INR 1,500-Cr, through a combination of block deals and open market transactions. The transaction saw participation from several institutional investors, including Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, BNP Paribas Financial Markets, Capital Group, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company, ChrysCapital, and Allspring.The sale was undertaken to fund the second tranche of its ongoing preferential issue and to support growth initiatives. The funds from the initial preferential issue, executed in February 2026, were deployed at a faster pace than anticipated, necessitating the additional capital.Following the transaction, the shareholding of Krishna Prasad Chigurupati has changed from 31.00% to 24.06%.
For FY25, Granules India had reported about INR 3,030 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 319 Cr in PAT.
