Govt's Rs.48,000-Cr allocation for PMAY to boost affordable housing
The government's Union Budget proposal of INR 48,000 crore outlay for helping build low-cost houses in both rural and urban regions across the country is expected to boost the affordable housing segment and ancillary industries including cement and steel. Given the backward and forward linkages with ancillary industries, the plan to support the construction of over 80 lakh such houses is expected to help in pushing demand for construction.
