Adani takes over Mumbai airport, becomes India's largest airport operator
The Adani group has completed the acquisition of Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) and will begin construction of the greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai next month. Last August, the group announced the acquisition of Mumbai airport from the GVK group. The transaction has concluded now giving the Adani group a 74% stake in MIAL. The Adani group already has six airports in its portfolio. With the addition of Mumbai airport, the group will control 25% of passenger footfalls and 33% of India's air cargo, making it India's largest airport infrastructure company.
