Flipkart offloads Rs.2,408.7 Cr stake in 2 Aditya Birla Group cos, trucking aggregator Blackbuck
Bengaluru-based e-commerce marketplace Flipkart, majority-owned by US-headquartered Walmart, has sold stakes worth over INR 2,408.7 crore in companies during the past 12 months. These divestments included holdings in Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL), and trucking aggregator platform Blackbuck.The latest transaction, on October 6, saw Flipkart sell its entire stake of approximately 6% in Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands for INR 998 crore through a block deal. Previously, in June, Flipkart divested its 6% stake in ABFRL for INR 587.7 crore. Flipkart had invested INR 1,500 crore in ABFRL in 2020, and the total proceeds from these ABFRL block deals amounted to INR 1,585.7 crore, yielding modest returns.Flipkart had sold a stake in Blackbuck worth INR 672 crore in June 2025. Earlier, it had sold INR 151 crore worth of stake in the firm during the IPO in November 2024.These stake sales are part of Flipkart's plan to streamline operations and concentrate on its core business as it prepares for an initial public offering (IPO), which is expected in 2026.
