Nuclear fuel player Clean Core raises $10-M from Sumant Sinha, Deepak Parekh, others

Oak Brook (USA)-based nuclear fuel player Clean Core Thorium Energy has raised USD 10 million. The investment was led by a Singapore-based family office, along with Indian industry leaders including Sumant Sinha (founder ReNew), Deepak Parekh (former chairman HDFC) and Lakshmi Narayanan (former CEO, Cognizant).The capital raised is being used to fund the commercialization of the company's Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life (ANEEL) fuel, a blend of thorium & High Assay Low-Enriched Uranium, which can be used in India's reactors.The company had raised about USD 5.5 million in 2022, which was led by Narayanan. The company plans to go for another round of fund-raising in the current calendar year.
