SBI Mutual Fund buys Rs.100-Cr from Lenskart co-founder at $7.7 B valuation
SBI Mutual Fund has purchased shares worth INR 100 crore in Gurugram-based eyewear retailer Lenskart from the firm’s co-founder and promoter Neha Bansal at INR 402 per share, valuing the company at INR 67,762 crore (approximately USD 7.7 Billion). Previously, Ms. Bansal had also sold INR 90 crore worth of stock at the same valuation to DMart promoter Radhakishan Damani.Lenskart‘s IPO opens on Oct 31 at a post-money valuation of INR 70,000 crore (USD 8 Billion).
Between Oct 2011 and Jun 2024, Lenskart had attracted funding of about USD 2 B from Chiratae Ventures, Unilazer Ventures, TPG Growth, TR Capital, Pratithi Investments, PremjiInvest, Epiq Capital, Steadview Capital, SoftBank Corp, Alpha Wave Global and others.
