US-based cyber security co Safe raises $33-M led by British Telecom
Palo Alto, CA (US)-based Safe Security, a cyber risk management firm with offices in global destinations including India, has raised USD 33 million in a round of funding led by the BT Group, which operates British Telecom. All existing investors including John Chambers participated in the round. Founded by Saket Modi, Vidit Baxi, and Rahul Tyagi in 2012, the company's SAFE platform allows organisations to take a health check of their existing defences and understand the likelihood of suffering a major cyber attack. As a part of the deal, BT will combine the SAFE platform with its managed security services to offer customers a real-time view of how safe the customers are. BT will also be granted exclusive rights to use and sell SAFE to businesses and public sector bodies in the UK. BT will also work collaboratively with Safe Security to develop products.
