Agri-tech co CropIn raises $14-M from Google, Impact Assets, others

Bengaluru-based agri-tech firm CropIn has attracted USD 14 million (INR 113.4 crore) from Google, Singapore-based ABC World Asia (via Impact Assets), and existing investors as part of its ongoing Series D round. Google and ABC World Asia (via Impact Assets) have invested INR 40.78 crore and INR 40 crore respectively while existing backers Chiratae Ventures and JSR Active Innovation Fund participated in the round with INR 24.47 crore and INR 8.16 crore. Founded in 2010, CropIn's flagship product Cropin Cloud provides data and intelligence to increase farming efficiency, scale productivity and manage risk. The firm claims to have digitized 16 million acres of farmland, impacting livelihoods of 7 million farmers across 92 countries. Post-investment, ABC World Asia (via Impact Assets) holds 18.20% stake in CropIn whereas Google holds 5.46%. Chiratae Ventures and JSR Active Innovation Fund own 6.78% and 1.11% stake respectively.
