Amp Energy India attracts $200-M from Sumitomo, AIIB

Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. (SMBC) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) are to invest USD 200 million in Bengaluru-based renewable energy platform Amp Energy India. This follows the announcement - earlier this month - of a USD 50 million investment by UK-based Intermediate Capital Group (ICG)in the company. EY is serving as the financial advisor for the transaction for Amp Energy India. Founded in 2016, Amp Energy India, with its 2.7 GW portfolio, operates in the commercial and industrial, as well as utility sectors.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Aug-19 and Jul-21, AMP Solar India had raised over USD 150 M from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Lightrock India.
