Arkam Ventures closes maiden fund at $106-M

Arkam Ventures (formerly Unitary Helion) has announced the close of its maiden venture capital fund at USD 106 million. The fund invests in pre-series A to Series B stage companies in the range of INR 10-20 crore. Led by partners Rahul Chandra and Bala Srinivasa, Arkam has so far invested in 12 companies including Smallcase, Krazybee, Jar, Smart staff, Jai Kisan, Signzy, SpotDraft, Wint Wealth, Invact, Mudrex, BestDoc and Jumbotail. Large institutional investors in the fund include British International Investment (formerly CDC Group), Nippon India Digital Innovation, Evolvence, a global fund of funds, a large US endowment, Capria, and SIDBI. Early backers include family offices and startup founders such as InfoEdge co-founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Flipkart founder Binny Bansal, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and MakeMyTrip co-founder and Group CEO Rajesh Magow.
